Join us on our Alanya Waterfall and Canyon Tour to experience the stark contrast between the city of Alanya and the beautiful, raw surrounding nature. We will travel to the mountains where the climate differs completely from in the city and you will see another side of the local life.
In the morning we will pick you and the other participants up from the hotels in Side and Alanya. Then we’ll drive through Alanya, by the sea and the banana plantations, and then up towards the mountains where the Sapadere Canyon is located 40 km outside Alanya. Be prepared to see some impressive scenery on the way!
We will arrive in the canyon around 10 am and visit the Sapadere village. Here you will see the local mosque and a traditional Turkish cottage with a display of silkworm cocoons and tools used for silk production.
The canyon had been secluded for a long time and it was only opened to the public in 2008. There is a wooden footbridge that is almost 800 meters long and leads along the canyon and the river surrounded by many waterfalls, the most famous one being Uçan Şelale, in English known as the “Flying Waterfall.”
The water here is crystal clear and freezing. Those who are bold enough may have a dip in one of the icy pools, some of which are up to 7 meters deep! The temperature of the water usually stays below 10°C even during the summer.
Around noon we will enjoy lunch in a restaurant in the canyon by the river. The food is included in the trip's price!
After lunch, we will visit the Sapadere cave, also known as the Dwarf Cave. It has several chambers full of stalactites and stalagmites. You might even spot some bats!
Then it will be time to leave the Sapadere Canyon and set out on the journey back to the hotels, where you will return before 4 pm, refreshed and filled with long-lasting memories!
