Tours, excursions & trips available in Side, Turkey
Side is a charming ancient town situated on the seashore, officially belonging to the Manavgat District. Next to Alanya, it is one of the most popular places for holidays in Turkey and a great starting point for optional trips. Side is much smaller than Alanya, so it will appeal to lovers of peace and quiet. Side's beaches are sandy, unlike Alanya's pebble and rocky beaches. So it is a good destination for families with young children. In the town itself, at almost every step we can come across ancient ruins, the most popular of which is the Temple of Apollo, picturesquely situated on the seashore. Characteristic columns are the "trademark" of the town and a frequent picture in guidebooks and on postcards. Side's advantage (we read "side") are it's climatic alleys, cozy pubs and restaurants. If you miss the city bustle, you can always go to nearby Manavgat. It is a large, lively Turkish city, famous for it's great local fruit and vegetable market. The bazaar is open on Mondays and Thursdays. In addition, Manavgat's attraction is the waterfall on the river of the same name as well as the great, impressive city mosque. It's also worth taking a look at it! Side is located 60 km east of Antalya Airport. On the other hand, Alanya is another 60 km away.Holidays in Side are a good idea if you plan longer optional trips, such as Cappadocia, Pamukkale, but also Antalya or rafting - it will be closer to these places than from the popular Alanya. Within the region of Side there are the following tourist destinations: in the very center is the town of Kumköy, literally "sand village". Further east we have Titreyengöl and Sorgun, in a green, quiet lakeside setting. In turn, to the west there are the villages of Evrenseki, Çolakli and Gündogdu.
